So, as some of you guys know I am going to spend nearly 3 months in England, near Nottingham. And from those of you living in the UK (magic and creeps atleast) I want to know stuff.
What do I have to do?
Do I need an adapter for my various cables?
With how much money do I have to calculate for food and drink and the other necessary stuff (some of which you don't ever need) in let's say a month?
Any unwritten rules how to behave? And don't say: Don't say you're German. Cause I am gonna say that if someone asks wher my damned accent comes from.

And if I can come up with other things I want to know, you'll be asked by me

You WILL need an adapter, here it costs round 3 quid, (slang for Pounds) or about 6 euros i guess. Spending really depends, if you wanna eat takeaway and crap - count on roughly 10 pounds per normal meal, however many you need in a day. If yo uwant to buy proper and cook for yourself - roughly ten pounds a day will have you with enough food and money left over for sweets/beer. As for your accent - expect to be considered polish. Like 80% of teh fucking population here is Polish. I haven't seen a british person outside of work for like 3 month when i first moved here. As for unwritten rules: Fag means cigarette, English is not the same as British, Pub is a Bar, clubs are SHIT don't go there aaaand living without a debit card is pretty much impossible. Have fun!

Just because you don't use the word, doesn't mean others automatically don't. Might end up like my former roommate - getting helluva offended when somebody asks you for a smoke and ending up looking like an idiot xD

P.S. there are NO electric stoves here, just in case you didn't know, all stoves and ovens use gas.

Knowing how to operate it is one thing, having the cooking skills for it is completely different. Hell i was considered a master fucking cook back home, but here - making a simple omelet became a lesson in disaster - cooking methods do not transfer at all

Where's the difference? I didn't notice one, except that the heat on a gasstove is instantly there and gone. I frequently switch between using a electrostove and a stove with wood for heating

I prefer gas stoves because you can really control the flame, while electric can have arbitrary settings depending on manufacturer.

Yeah. And I never burned chocolatepudding with gasstoves

most stoves in england have two settings: "OMGMYHOUSEISONFIRE" and "let's take 3 hours to boil this egg shall we?" >_>

You don't have 4 burners with 4 settings?

OBVIOSLY there's 4 burners on a stove, but the setting are floaty, we have a bar from off/min to max. However to set the gas on anythign between mi nand max requires such ridiculous pinpoint precision that there might as well just be 2 settings.

Well to be precise there's nothign you need to do on THIS end. I have no idea what kind of rules Deutschland has in place. In LTU we needed to register a special form if leaving the country for over 5 months for example.

I looked a few things up on the website of the English embassy and as I understood it, I only need to register at the local council if I earn money, which I don't. More I don't know
