It has to do with the common ground. If I say "Look at this wet brick. It is wet.", the statement begins with the assertion "this wet brick". At that point, it is in the common ground of the discourse that there is a wet brick. So when I go on to say that it is wet, I have said nothing because that last sentence is always true in the world where I said the first sentence and if something is always true there is no need to say it. Boom twice of something to nothing.

I'll now proceed to stare at the mailbox with a phone in my hand till the game arrives and a text notifies me that I can pick up the vita from the post office(had to order from 2 places since first one had a good deal for the vita but no Persona)
